Apart from a handful of models (which are
unique to Japan and therefore would not interfere with sales of US or
Mexican models) Fender Japan are prevented from officially exporting to
Europe or the US. What is made in Japan stays in Japan. This is what you
are missing out on....a '52 Telecaster. These are the specs:

| Condition |
| This is a 2005-2006 Crafted
in Japan 'R' serial ( Ignore the serial on the bridge, almost all Fender Japan Teles have a
bridge plate bearing an 'A' serial). The condition is superb. The
only worth mentioning - and barely at that - are the tiny stress
cracks in the clear coat at the neck pocket. This is very very
common when you have a good tight fit - the topcoat is hard but
brittle and hairline cracks inevitable develop at the pocket
corners. It's nothing at all to be concerned about. Apart from
that, there isn't a photographable mark on it.
There is also no
discernable fret wear and all controls work smoothly and without
noise.. Clearly this instrument has barely been
used.
All
controls work smoothly and without noise.
Note that, apart from a tiny sliver
on the bottom curve where the jack socket is, this has a one-piece
body!! Most
are three-piece, but it is pot-luck what you get.
The gigbag is a superior quality,
padded item, not the usual Fender bag.

Sustain is good, with a well
defined tone. Plugged in, the Texas Specials deliver their usual
powerful sound. A superb instrument!
This model has the chunkyish '50s
neck with a soft V profile. It is very comfortable to play right
the way up the neck. Players with very small hands might not
agree, though.
Great looking, great sounding. A
superb, classic-looking Tele.
