Apart from a handful of models (which are
unique to Japan and therefore would not interfere with sales of US or
Mexican models) Fender Japan are prevented from officially exporting to
Europe or the US. What is made in Japan stays in Japan. This is what we
are missing out on.....a '57 Reissue Stratocaster. These are the specs:

| This is a 2002-2004 Crafted
in Japan 'Q' serial. Condition is superb; there is only
a very small area of minor scuffing by the back plate... very hard
to photograph but I tried. The pickguard film has been left in
place! Hardware is in excellent condition,
there is hardly any fret wear and
all controls work smoothly and without noise.
I'm not sure what the colour is
called. It is quite a vivid metallic blue, but looks spectacular
against the white pick guard and maple neck.
The gigbag is a Fender padded item.

Acoustically, this guitar has a lovely tone and resonance,
with bags of sustain. I can feel the notes through the body as I
play it. Plug in and all the same qualities are evident and then
some. Texas Specials are great pickups whether you want to play
clean or dirty.
A new set of 9s has been fitted
(after the pics were taken) and it plays cleanly and comfortably all the way up the neck.
A great sounding '57 in an unusual
colour in superb condition. Highly recommended.
