Apart from a handful of models (which are
unique to Japan and therefore would not interfere with sales of US or
Mexican models) Fender Japan are prevented from officially exporting to
Europe or the US. This is one, a Stevie Ray Vaughan-style '62 Strat. These are the specs:

This is a Made in
Japan 1993-1994 'N' serial and is Fender Japan's take on
the SRV Strat. You will see by clicking on the above thumbnails
that there are some knocks and dings around the edges - the bottom
edge in particular - a little buckle rash, some scuffing on the
bottom horn and pick guard, but just a couple of marks on the
top.
There are years of life in the frets
and all controls work
smoothly as intended. There is just a little wear on the
gold-plated hardware.

Although I would rather import guitars
in pristine condition, I know that many buyers do not mind about
good honest playing wear as long as the price is right and the
guitar lives up to expectations in terms of playing and sound.
Have no fear...
Acoustically there is plenty of
resonance and sustain. Plugged in and you have the same and more. The US-made Texas Special pickups are superb whether used
clean or driven and you'll get no closer to the Stevie Ray Vaughan
sound. This guitar comes with a steel tremolo block for that
little extra 'sizzle'.. A new set of hybrid 9s has been fitted,
I've set it up with just a little relief on the neck, and it plays
very well indeed. The guitar equivalent of putting on an old pair
of comfortable shoes...
By the way, it feels a few ounces
lighter than the newer Strats I have in stock
Here you have a high-spec guitar
which looks and sounds the business.. but a few minor dings have
reduced its price. It'll make someone very happy indeed.
