Apart from a handful of models (which are
unique to Japan and therefore would not interfere with sales of US or
Mexican models) Fender Japan are prevented from officially exporting to
Europe or the US. This is one, a '62 Strat in Shell Pink. These are the specs:

This is a Made in
Japan 2008-2009 'T' serial (Fender Japan have reverted to
using Made in rather than Crafted in Japan on their
latest instruments). It is actually a new instrument and
condition is absolutely superb. Unlike most of my stock, this
guitar came new from a Japanese dealership where it had only been
used for display. There
isn't a mark on it. Of course the pickguard protective film
is still in place.
There is no fret wear and all controls work
smoothly and without noise. It comes with Japanese manual, an allen key and a superior padded Fender
gigbag.

Acoustically there is plenty of
resonance and sustain. Plug in and all the same qualities are
evident. The US-made Texas Special pickups are superb whether used
clean or driven. A new set of hybrid 9s has been fitted
and the guitar plays superbly.
Here you have a new guitar, in a
distinctive (but period-correct) colour, of high specification but
at a used guitar price. Very highly recommended.
