Apart from a handful of models (which are unique to Japan and therefore would not interfere with sales of US or Mexican models) the quality of Fender Japan guitars is so high that they are prevented from officially exporting to Europe or the US. Generally speaking, what is made in Japan stays in Japan. This is what we are missing out on...... a '70 Precision Bass in Olympic White. Here are the specs:....

Condition
This is a  2006-2007 Made in Japan 'S' serial (Fender Japan recently reverted to using 'Made in' rather than 'Crafted in' Japan on their instruments). It is in superb condition. There is just a barely visible abrasion on the bottom edge and a tiny ding on the back. I tried to photograph them without success... they are virtually invisible under normal circumstances.. All controls work smoothly and without crackle and there is very little fret wear.. When an instrument is as good as this, there isn't much one can say.

It even still has the pick guard protective film in place!!

These white '70s are quite popular in Japan, I think because of the Sex Pistols connection. This one is in lovely condition and sounds as good as it looks. Sound wise it is good and punchy, just as you would expect. This bass has seen little use and is in fantastic condition. Highly recommended.
