Apart from a handful of
models (which are unique to Japan and therefore would not interfere with
sales of US or Mexican models) the quality of Fender Japan guitars is so
high that they are prevented from officially exporting to Europe or the
US. This is what we are missing.... a '75 Reissue Jazz Bass. Here are

| This is a 1996-1997 Made
in Japan 'V' serial. Overall condition is good but
there is a smattering of small dings, pick marks etc. Click on the
thumbnails above for close-ups. It is all minor stuff, just good,
honest playing wear. The previous owner also drilled new strap
button holes, which have now been filled, lacquered and polished.
The
natural ash finish has mellowed to a beautiful honey colour. Just
look at that grain!
There are years of life left in the
frets and and all controls work smoothly
and without crackle. The action is comfortable and the bass easy to
play right up the neck..

| Acoustically the ash body
gives this bass a lovely tone with plenty of resonance. You can feel
those notes through the body. Plugged in the sound is big and beefy

Jazz Bass at its best - absolutely awesome. This Jazz Bass has the same US made pickups
as fitted to Fender US Reissues so you have the best of both
world's,
Japanese build quality and US pups.
I'd say the '75 was the most sought
after Jazz bass model both in Japan and here. I prefer to import
mint condition instruments but I know many of you don't mind a bit
of honest wear as long as the price is right and the things plays
and sounds good. |
