Apart from a handful of
models (which are unique to Japan and therefore would not interfere with
sales of US or Mexican models) the quality of Fender Japan guitars is so
high that they are prevented from officially exporting to Europe or the
US. Generally speaking, what is made in Japan stays in Japan. This is
what we are missing out on...... a rare Fender Japan Fretless '62 Jazz Bass.

| This is a 2005-2006 Crafted
in Japan 'R' serial. Condition is excellent - there are
a couple barely photographable, tiny marks on the back and one
just above the bridge pickup, which is shown in the above pics. All controls work smoothly and
without crackle.
Not much else I can say about this
one, its a beauty - study the pics and
you'll see what I mean.

| As a guitarist, I can't
play a fretless bass the way it should be played - not that it stops me
trying. But one thing I can say for certain is that the sound this
thing makes is awesome! These alder bodied
basses loaded with US Vintage pups always sound great - this one is
no exception. And, as I say above, the condition is
excellent.
These are very rare - even in Japan.
If you want a meaty sounding fretless, you'll not get
better at the price... or at any price I suspect.
