Apart from a handful of models (which are unique to Japan and therefore would not interfere with sales of US or Mexican models) the quality of Fender Japan guitars is so high that they are prevented from officially exporting to Europe or the US. Generally speaking, what is made in Japan stays in Japan. This is what we are missing out on...... a Fender Japan fretless '62 Jazz Bass.

Condition
1999-2002 Crafted in Japan 'P' serial. It is in excellent condition with only a couple of tiny marks on the edge. Click on the thumbnails above for close-ups. All controls work smoothly and without crackle and the hardware is in good condition with only minor tarnishing. 

Wire wound strings are fitted and although there is the expected minor scuffing of the fret board, there are no gouges, grooving or any untoward signs of wear.

Comments
As a guitarist, I can't play a fretless bass the way it should be played - not that it stops me trying. But one thing I can say for certain is that the sound this thing makes is awesome!  These alder bodied basses loaded with US Vintage pups always sound great - this one is no exception. 

If you want a meaty sounding fretless in superb condition... this is for you.
